French container shipping company CMA CGM plans to launch a new service connecting Europe and West Africa, EURAF 6, under a slot swap agreement with an unnamed partner, on August 30.
The first vessel to be deployed on the new service will be a 2,460 TEU boxship, MV CMA CGM Milan Trader.
CMA CGM said that the service will provide an enhanced service coverage with a second loop directly linking the Western Mediterranean to West African markets.
In addition, the EURAF 6 service will feature direct service from Italy and Spain to Senegal, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Ghana.
EURAF 6 port coverage is as follows:
La Spezia (Italy) – Genoa (Italy) – Tarragona (Spain) – Castellon (Spain) – Valencia (Spain) – Algeciras (Spain) – Tangiers (Morocco) – Dakar (Senegal) – Abidjan (Ivory Coast) – Tin Can (Nigeria) / Lagos (Nigeria) – Tema (Ghana) – Takoradi (Ghana) – Abidjan – La Spezia.
