Singapore-based dry bulk carrier owner and operator Berge Bulk took delivery of Berge Phan Xi Pang, a Handy bulker, from Japanese Imabari Shipyard on May 30.
The 38,000 dwt vessel features a length of 180 meters and a width of 29.8 meters. Its market value currently stands at USD 20.24 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.
Sailing under the flag of the Isle of Man, Berge Phan Xi Pang will start its maiden voyage carrying steel pipes from Kimitsu, Japan for discharge in Batam, Indonesia, the company said.
In line with Berge Bulk’s “Less is More” energy efficient program, the newbuilding is equipped with a larger, de-rated and better tuned main engine which is said to enhance the vessel’s fuel efficiency.
Berge Phan Xi Pang is additionally fitted with an air-type stern tube seal, a marine growth prevention system and several other features that add to its energy efficient design, according to Berge Bulk.
Following the newest delivery, Berge Bulk’s fleet is comprised of 54 vessels with an aggregate tonnage of 10,342,461 dwt.
